2014-2015 Goals

Individual Membership

Increase overall membership 20%. Grow membership for junior enlisted military by 10%, and membership from academia by 10%.

Corporate Membership

Increase corporate membership and sponsorship by $2000 through a combination of new and prior corporate sponsors. Use these funds for STEM grants for Alaska schools.

Develop and sustain an updated website that will provide more resources and functionality. Use the website as a “push” medium to collate event data, send and track invites, and produce a newsletter that can be mailed out to membership and extended mailing list.

Scholarships/Educational Opportunities

Award $6000 in grants and scholarships to elementary school, middle school, high school and college programs, focused on enhancing STEM programs at the schools.

Host six monthly Chapter events where guest speakers are able to present on a variety of IT, intelligence and electronics topics.

Host two major events for the year that increase our visibility and presence in the community, and offer more exposure to academia, corporations, and military members.

Partner with another organization in the Anchorage area to provide members with an opportunity to meet and interact with IT businesses.

Enhance our Young AFCEAN program, increasing involvement of two key groups: junior military enlisted and university students. Target ROTC programs, STEM programs and research programs at University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), and involve them in event planning and opportunities for networking.

Enhance and sustain a strong awards program that regularly recognizes contributions to the Chapter, IT community and ensure public recognition. Use the position of VP, Awards Program to focus on awards and recognition and create opportunities for the Chapter to recognize accomplishments.

General Chapter Goals

Attend other meetings in Anchorage and develop a strong rapport with the organizations. Provide information on AFCEA, our programs, and offer memberships to grow our Chapter.

Expand AFCEA presence in Alaska by working toward building a new Chapter in the Fairbanks area. Meet with people in Fairbanks and get them involved. Launch a new Chapter.
